Content is King

At some point during discussions with my clients, we cover topics such as search engine optimization, keywords, meta tags, and the like. I specialize in helping clients understand what they are trying to accomplish on the web, a typical starting point might be keywords since they usually think that is the most important part of getting found. But good business focuses on the business model. So many folks are focused on search engine optimization that they forget the customer and their needs. If the customer's experience is first and foremost and site usability issues are reduced, then the content should be the main focus. What do you want your customers to see or learn when they land on your page? What do you want them to do once they are there? Does the content call for an action from them? Do you give them more than one opportunity to take that action? Is the action being tracked by option for A/B testing?

The bottom line is when you get the traffic, do you know if it converts based on your content quality? Make sure your content gets the message across and drives the desired action. Then we can talk about seo, keywords, and such. For more information about web content.
